FOREST FIELD TRIPS : HOWL’s Forest Field Trips bring an entire class into the wild for a full day of hands-on discovery — no experience required.

Forest Field Trips(grades 1–5, ages 6–12, 9:30–1:30)

Every field trip begins before the bus even leaves. A HOWL Pack Leader visits the classroom ahead of the trip to warm up the group with an introductory game and a mini lesson on what to watch, listen, and look for in the field. By the time students step outside, they’re ready.

Out in the forest, children explore, investigate, and record their discoveries in their own HOWL Nature Journal — a keepsake they take home at the end of the day, full of sketches, observations, and memories from their time in the wild.

EDUCATION IN NATURE The best outdoor educators aren’t born — they’re made. HOWL’s Education in Nature workshop gives your whole school or grade team the tools and confidence to take learning outside and make it stick.

Education in Nature (professional development for elementary teachers) Available in 3-hour or 4-hour workshops, held at your school.

A HOWL Pack Leader works directly with your team, walking teachers through the strategies, techniques, and classroom management approaches that make outdoor instruction successful — even with the wiggliest of groups. Teachers leave with practical skills they can use the very next day, in any schoolyard or green space near their building.

Can’t make it to the forest? Bring the wild into your classroom instead.

CLASSROOM VISITS (grades 1–5, ages 6–12, 1½–2 hours)

A HOWL Pack Leader comes to you — leading students through hands-on science activities and games that connect directly to what they’re already learning. Teachers choose the theme, so every visit fits right into the curriculum rather than interrupting it.
